Remember when buying an album was a whole experience?

Walking into the record store, flipping through CDs and cassette tapes, checking out the new releases, and trying to decide which album was coming home with you.

Sometimes you already knew what you wanted. Other times, the cover alone caught your attention.

And if you grew up in NYC, you know those record stores were something special.

You couldn't wait to get home, tear off that plastic, pop the CD in, and listen from beginning to end.

No skipping around. No algorithms telling you what to play next.

Just you and the music.

The Chronic. Doggystyle. Ready to Die. Enter the Wu-Tang. The Infamous. Illmatic.

And that's just getting started.

You knew the intros. The skits. The features. Every word to your favorite tracks.

The Score. All Eyez on Me. Reasonable Doubt. Aquemini.

Different artists. Different sounds. Different stories. But every one of them left something behind.

And let's not forget the artwork. Reading the liner notes, studying the photos, checking the production credits, and seeing who got a shoutout.

That was part of the experience too.

These albums weren't just something we listened to. They influenced how we dressed, how we talked, and what we considered fly.

Years later, they still hit the same.

Some call it nostalgia. We call it an education.

And if you know, you know.
